Why Didn't We Think of That?

Me: "People used to have to get up and walk across the room to turn the TV on or off, and to change the channel."

Christian: "Oh WOW!  That must have been really hard!  Why didn't they invent something where you could just clap your hands to turn the TV on? . . .  Oh, but then how would you turn on the XBox?"
