Alex's 4 Month Check-Up

We saw the doctor yesterday for Alexandra's 4-month well baby visit. (Can you believe she is 4 months old already?!) The summary is that she is absolutely perfect. She weighed in at exactly 15 pounds and is 25 inches tall. That is the 75th percentile for both, meaning that she is perfectly healthy and proportionate. The trajectory from her 2 month check for weight remained the same, and she moved from the 50th percentile to the 75th in height. That might explain why it feels like she moved through her clothes so quickly. A month ago, 3-6 month clothes were huge on her, 2 weeks later they fit perfectly, and today they are getting tight. She still spits up a lot and has some gas pain at night, both of which the doctor said are normal at her age. Since she is growing appropriately, he is not concerned, although we are going to switch her to the gentle formula at daycare. She is not yet reaching for objects with her hands, but she shows interest in things that are colorful, things that move and things that make noise. She clearly wants to grab at objects, but doesn't yet know how to control her arms & hands. I think that she will soon discover her feet, as she likes to lay on her back with her feet in the air. She isn't rolling over yet, but she is trying, and she can move all over the living room just by wiggling. All in all, she is a happy, healthy, chubbly little girl and is a joy for all of us!
